I’m the founder of Greek With Dimitris and Prepare for Greece — and I created this platform for one simple reason:
Because I know how frustrating language learning can feel.
Years ago, I decided to learn Egyptian Arabic. I was motivated and excited. But very quickly, I felt lost.
Apps were teaching me random vocabulary. Grammar explanations felt disconnected. And when native speakers talked to me, I completely froze.
I wasn’t lazy. I wasn’t incapable.
The problem was the method.
That experience stayed with me. Later, when I saw people trying to learn Greek and feeling the exact same frustration, I knew something had to change.
So in April 2024, I started posting short, simple Greek lessons online — explaining Greek the way I wish Arabic had been explained to me.
Within three months, the page grew to over 100,000 followers.
Today, our community includes more than 750,000 learners worldwide, and over 10,000 students have joined my courses.
That growth confirmed something important:
People don’t struggle because Greek is impossible.
They struggle because it’s taught the wrong way.
I believe the best way to start learning a language is by focusing first on high-frequency words — the words that are actually used every single day.
