Morning Greetings

• καλημέρα (kalimera) - Good morning 🌞
  • Used: In the morning, until noon.

Evening/Afternoon Greetings

• καλησπέρα (kalispera) - Good evening/afternoon 🌇
  • Used: In the evening/afternoon.

Nighttime Farewell

• καληνύχτα (kalinihta) - Good night 🌙
  • Used: When saying goodbye at night or going to bed.

General Greetings and Farewells

• γειά σου (yassou) – Hello/Bye 👋
  • Used: Informal greeting for one person.
• γειά σας (yassas) – Hello/Bye 🙌
  • Used: Formal greeting or when addressing multiple people.
• αντίο (antio) - Goodbye 👋
  • Used: When parting ways.
• χαίρετε (herete) - Hello/Goodbye 😊
  • Used: Formal and polite greeting or farewell.

Welcoming Someone

• καλώς ήρθες (kalos irthes) - Welcome 🤗
  • Used: Informal welcome.
• καλώς ήρθατε (kalos irthate) - Welcome 🎉
  • Used: Formal welcome.

Inquiring About Well-Being

• τι κάνεις; (ti kanis?) - How are you? ❓
  • Used: Informal inquiry about someone’s well-being.
• τι κάνετε; (ti kanete?) - How are you? ❓
  • Used: Formal inquiry or addressing multiple people.
• πως είσαι; (pos ise?) - How are you? ❓
  • Used: Informal inquiry about someone’s well-being.
• πως είστε; (pos iste?) - How are you? ❓
  • Used: Formal inquiry or addressing multiple people.

Responses to Common Inquiries

• Καλά, ευχαριστώ! (Kalá, efharistó!) - I'm good, thank you! 😊
  • Used: As a polite response when asked how you are.
• Πολύ καλά! (Polí kalá!) - Very well! 😃
  • Used: To indicate you are doing very well.
• Έτσι κι έτσι. (Étsi ki étsi) - So-so. 😐
  • Used: When you're feeling indifferent.
• Όχι πολύ καλά. (Óhi polí kalá) - Not very well. 😞
  • Used: When you're not feeling well.
• Καλώς! (Kalós!) - Well! 👍
  • Used: To indicate you're fine.
• **Εντάξει. (Entáxi) - Okay. 🙂
  • Used: To indicate you're okay.
• Όχι άσχημα. (Óhi áshima) - Not bad. 😌

Introducing Yourself

  • Used: When meeting someone for the first time.
• με λένε... (me léne...) - My name is (they call me).. 📝
  • Used: To introduce your name.
